Marijon Accounting is based in Three Rivers, the business hub of Vereeniging, Gauteng. Vereeniging is at the centre of the Vaal Triangle region, with a strong focus on the steel industry. The related client base is engineering and fabrication firms.
In 2008, Marijon Accounting decided to take its offerings to the Rand and Reymar Financial Solutions came into being.
It proved to be a wise decision, as the greater Johannesburg area is expanding daily with new and exciting businesses. The REYMAR office is situated in Alberton.
Marie Viljoen was born and raised in Vereeniging, Gauteng. Her accounting career commenced after matriculating in 1985. In January 1986, she joined the accounting firm JCB Inc. as a trainee accountant while studying accounting part time at Unisa.
Marie completed her training in 1991 and obtained her Chartered Accountant – CA(SA) – designation after successfully passing the board exam in June 1998.
In 1996, Marie decided to venture into the corporate world, where she gained very important experience in and knowledge of the financial world, which included the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
Marie joined an accounting firm in March 2001 and became a partner. In May 2004, the time seemed right to leave that company and set up her own business.
Marie’s success is attributable to the following strong qualities:
- Ability to perform efficiently under pressure.
- Good people relation skills, caring, but principled-based personality.
- Very analytical, accurate and attentive to detail.
- Ability to solve problems.
She is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accounts (SAICA) and the vice-chairman of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants Sedibeng district.
Outside of her work in Marijon Accounting, Marie’s diverse interests include playing the piano, Saxophone and the accordion, gardening, dancing, candle-making, decoupage and boating. This encompasses her love of nature and the outdoors.
